ESTELLE DANIEL “BABE” BLAISDELL Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident, Estelle Daniel “Babe” Blaisdell will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 29 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Reverend Bud Rousset will be officiating. A visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Estelle was born on June 12, 1922 in Sardis, Okla. the daughter of Franklin Daniel and Bannie Estelle (Mason) Armstrong. She passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2005 at her home in Cortez at the age of 83. On April 2, 1939 in Cahone, Estelle married Lyle James Blaisdell. She served as both a former 4-H leader and former Grange member. She also loved to quilt and sew. Surviving Estelle are her children, Judith E. Barry and husband, James of Gunnison, Colo., L. Kay Mustoe and husband, Patrick of Eugene, Ore., Sandy Wilkin and husband, Leon of Cortez; her four grandchildren, Ann Ripley, Lynn Barry, Jody Harris, and Kristy Brower; five great-grandchildren, Dallas, Courtlyn, Kaden, Hannah and Jessica; as well as step-grandchildren, Danny Wilkin, Debbie Parrish, and Donna Murphy; step great-grandchildren, Kallie Hinton, Lindsey Hinton, and Jackson Parrish; and step great-grandchildren, Amanda Wilkin, Dominique Wilkin, Tanya Wilkin and Cambria Wilkin. She leaves her brother and sister, Carl Armstrong and wife, Joyce of Cortez, and Claudine Wilhite and husband, Carl of Mancos; and her brother-in-law, Jack Hunter. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lyle James Blaisdell; her sister, Pearl Hunter; and step great-granddaughter, Charlee Wilkin.
