Dove Creek, Colorado

Ernest Nelson “Ernie, Bones” Pullin, Jr., age 74 passed away at his residence on Monday, February 24, 2025. He was born September 12, 1950 in Canton, Ohio to the late Ernest Nelson Pullin, Sr. and Rose Ann (Hill) Pullin.

He was raised in Canton, Ohio where he graduated from Timken Vocational High School; and went on to work in the Canton area as a stick and mig welder as well as a fabricator at which point he moved to Florida in 1984 where he expanded his skills to include computerize welder, CNC laser cutter machine and water jet. Ernest retired in 2018 where he moved closer to his children whom he loved very much. He chose Dove Creek, Colorado which as he said, “was his little piece of heaven.” Ernest was a free spirit and lived life his way. His fabrication skills did not just end at work, as you could see his creative ingenuity around his home. Ernest enjoyed his family, friends, and helping his neighbors. He especially enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and always stepped up to help anyone in need.

Ernest is survived by his children: Shawn (Trudy) Pullin; Grandchildren Cassidy and Nicholas (Casey) of Utah; Steven (Trista Dawn) Pullin; Grandchildren Makaylee (Great Grandchild Beckham), Bryce, Abby Adams, and Jade Perez of Utah; Stephanie Grass; grandchildren Logan, Ronin, Gavin, and Jaxon of Utah; and Randell Pullin of Florida; Sister, RoseAnn (Mark Herbert) Powell of Ohio whom he was very close too; his favorite nephew, Christopher (Laura) Powell of Colorado; Niece, Stacey (Matthew) Richardson Grand Nephew Maxwell of Ohio; and Nephew Scott (Tabby) Powell; Grand Niece Destyni (Zach) Ricart; Great Grand Nephew Walker of Florida; Grand Niece Jocelyn Powell of Ohio; and Brother, Dean (Tammy) Pullin of Ohio; and Niece Kristy of Ohio; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

In keeping with Ernest’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. His memory will always be forever alive in every flutter of a hummingbird’s wings, the creak of a porch swing or the roar of a Harley.
