EMMA MARIE CUTHAIR Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Emma Marie Cuthair will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 15 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. Visitation has been set from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Ertel Chapel. Emma was born on January 15, 1922 in Towaoc the daughter of James Laner and Susan (Cuthair) Ketchum. She passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at her residence at the age of 87. Emma enjoyed sewing and beading. She liked to do crossword puzzles and she loved to travel. Emma traveled to Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Mesquite and loved to play the slot machines. Emma’s grandchildren brought her life much happiness. Surviving Emma are her children, Norman Lopez and wife, Glenda, Raymond Lopez, Linda Lopez Price and husband, James, Rutherford Mills Sr., Ruthie Mills, Betty Mills and Bruce Donald Lehi, Wade Mills and wife, Serita, and Lucia Copperfield and husband, Ernie, all of Towaoc; her step-children, Georganna Mills King, and George Mills Jr.; her foster child, Euna Whiteman of Towaoc; her siblings, Ira Cuthair of Towaoc, Carl B. Cuthair, Stella Root, and Leora Knight, all of Towaoc; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; by her children, Bertha Gates Lopez, and Rickey Lee Mills; by her step-children, Windy Mills Sr., and Josephine Mills; by her granddaughter, Pamela B. Lopez Peabody; and by her brothers, John and Frank Laner.
