EMMA LaVERNE WEAVER Funeral services for lifelong area resident Emma LaVerne Weaver will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Mr. Raymond Boyd will officiate. Interment will follow at Cahone Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at Ertel Chapel. Emma was born the daughter of Prentis Leroy and Christina Lorene (Young) Lewis on January 11, 1936 in Cushing, Okla. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the age of 77. Emma married William Eugene Weaver on May 12, 1959 in Dove Creek. The couple shared 49 years of marriage before Bill's death in 2008. Emma worked as a dedicated secretary and accountant for Bill's gas station and businesses. She was a talented artist. Emma loved her family deeply and by her grandchildren she was viewed as "The" Grandma. Surviving Emma are her children, Prentina Coker and husband, Shane Baughman of Dove Creek and Kirk Weaver of Cortez; by six grandchildren, M. Dallas Coker and wife, Sarah of Oklahoma, Prentael Gritz and husband, Josh of Cortez, Skylor Coker and wife, Emily of Oklahoma, Cole Baughman, Case Baughman and Kiera Baughman all of Dove Creek; by four great grandchildren, Allie, Gracie, Kycen and Kael; and by her brother, Orville Lewis and wife, Arveta of Bloomfield, N.M. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Bill Weaver.
