Elvin Lewis

ELVIN LEWIS Graveside services for Cortez resident Elvin Lewis will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 17 at Cortez Cemetery. Elvin was born November 12, 1920 in Bluewater, N.M. to Charles and Hazel (Whetten) Lewis. An Army veteran of WWII, Elvin passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the age of 89. Surviving Elvin are his son, Milton Lewis and wife, Dorothy of Cortez; three grandchildren, Eddy Lewis and wife, Cathy of Cortez, Brice Lewis of Salida, Colo., and Marcy Lewis and husband, Victor Sainz of Fort Collins, Colo.; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Azel Lewis and wife, Shirley of West Virginia. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Lorene; and by his siblings, Ike, Farrell, and Ralph Lewis. Memorial contributions may be made in Elvin's name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O.
