Elvin Leroy Roundtree

ELVIN LeROY ROUNDTREE Funeral services for Elvin LeRoy Roundtree a longtime area resident will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 20 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Elvin was born December 2, 1919 in Vanoss, Okla. the son of John Wiley and Clara Lula (Armstrong) Roundtree. He passed away at his Dolores home on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the age of 90. On October 29, 1944 Elvin married LaDelle Yates in Aztec, N.M. Elvin farmed beans and wheat in the Sylvan area until 1963 when he and LaDelle moved into the Cortez/Dolores area. Surviving Elvin are his wife of 65 years, LaDelle Roundtree of Dolores; his children, Leginia Della Krook and husband, John of Grand Junction, Colo., Billie LeRoy Roundtree and wife, Veda of Farmington, N.M., Susan Deanne Kimmi and husband, Ron of Cortez, Dean Allen Roundtree and wife, Jeanie of Cortez, and Judith Leone Follman and companion, Harry Rogers of Cortez; by one sister, Maxcine Retherford of Cortez; and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding Elvin in death were his parents; and seven brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Elvin Roundtree with Hospice of Montezuma, PO Box 740, Cortez.
