ELSIE MURRISH Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident Elsie Murrish will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Saturday morning from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Elsie was born on September 26, 1923 in Rigby, Idaho the daughter of Daniel Wesley and Ada (Duerden) Crump. She passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at her residence at the age of 87. On October 7, 1946, Elsie married Robert Earl Murrish in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple shared 63 years of marriage before Robert's passing in 2010. Elsie was a devoted member of the L.D.S. Church 3rd Ward. In her free time, Elsie enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her friends quilting. Surviving Elsie are her children, Connie Adams of Yucaipa, Calif., Howard Murrish and wife, Rhonda of Ontario, Calif., Wanda McCoy and husband, Weslie of Phoenix, Ariz., Sidney Murrish and wife, Elizabeth of Ontario, Calif., Wesley Murrish and wife, Nancy of Fair Oaks, Calif., Ada McVey of Cortez, and Kelley Stephenson and husband, Tom of Bayfield. She also leaves behind 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Joseph Crump and wife, Helene of Grants Pass, Ore., Donald Crump and wife Willa of Riverside, Calif., LaVon Pitts and husband, Roy of Springdale, Ark., and Lucy Grint of Lebanon, Tenn. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Robert Murrish; and by three brothers and two sisters.
