ELIZABETH MAY “BETSY” STEWART Memorial services for Cortez resident Elizabeth May “Betsy” Stewart will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 7 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Brad Ramsey will officiate. Betsy was born on February 6, 1956 in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Lee Wendle Sarty Jr. and Joyce (deGoey) Sarty. She passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at her home at the age of 50. Betsy was a high school graduate who completed two years of college. On March 14, 1985, she married Glenn David Stewart in Littleton, Colo. In her spare time Betsy enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and crafts. She loved any activity that involved her family. Surviving Betsy are her husband, Glenn D. Stewart of Cortez; her sons, Alex and Collin, both of Cortez; her father, Lee Sarty of San Diego, Calif., and her siblings, Bruce Sarty of Menifee, Calif., and Lynne Sarty of Eureka, Calif. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Sarty. Memorial contributions may be made in Betsy’s memory to Hospice of Montezuma.
