MARY ELIZABETH KINNEY Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Mary Elizabeth Kinney will be held on at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 at the Montezuma County Annex. Elizabeth was born on December 10, 1929 in Wilson Mesa, Colo. the daughter of Avery Woodard and Viola Bell (Ross) Campbell. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Elizabeth was always on the go. Every challenge set before her she met it straight on. Elizabeth was known for being a caring, generous person who was always there to help. She attended Rock Springs Church. Elizabeth loved to dance and time spent at Groundhog was a very important part of her life. Elizabeth had a large family and many friends. Surviving Elizabeth are her children, Dennis Pritchard and wife, Cindy of Dry Creek Basin, Colo., Bill Pritchard and wife, Diana of Redvale, Colo., Bobby Smith of Mancos, Ricky Smith and wife, Beth of Cortez, Linda Hopkins and husband, Leonard of Grand Junction, Colo., Wayne Hubbard and wife, Sharon of Norwood, Colo., and Elaine Dixon and husband, Don of Canyonville, Ore. Elizabeth also leaves behind 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her brother, Lyman Campbell and wife, Norma of Redvale, Colo.; her sisters-in-law, Rosalie Brodie of Kingman, Ariz., and Thelma Campbell of Olathe, Colo.; one brother-in-law, Paul Carkhuff of Grand Junction, Colo.; and her special friend, Roy Archer and his family. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; by her husbands, Kenneth Pritchard, Lloyd Smith, Clyde Hubbard, and Clyde Kinney; and by her son, Glen Pritchard.
