EILEEN MARIE VEACH Funeral services for Eileen Marie Veach a lifelong resident of Cortez will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Empire Street Chapel with Bishop Todd Plewe conducting. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been set from 9:30 to service time at the L.D.S. Church. Eileen was born May 11, 1920 in Mancos the daughter of Arthur James and Elsa Bridget (Reim) Durham. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the age of 90. Eileen married Hugh Edwin Veach on November 27, 1937 in Aztec, N.M. Eileen was a member of the L.D.S. Church and Hospital Auxiliary, and she volunteered her time delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. She was employed by Valley National Bank and held the position of Vice President until her retirement. She loved to travel and spend time in her garden. Surviving Eileen are her children, Ron Veach and wife, Barbara of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jerry Veach and wife, Charlotte of Omaha, Neb. and Cindy Mobley and husband, Kent of Farmington, N.M.; by her eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Veach, Lori Draper, Steven Veach, Tim Veach, Amy Veach, Randy Veach, Troy Veach, and Kason Mobley; by 13 great grandchildren; and by her sister, Virginia Virdin of Dallas, Tex. Preceding Eileen in death were her parents; her husband, Hugh Veach; by her sister, Alta McNutt; and by a grandson, Monty Lee Veach. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Eileen Veach with Madison House, 120 S. Madison Ave., Cortez.
