EDYTHELMA SATTLEY Graveside services for Edythelma Sattley will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12 at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Edyth was born March 22, 1930 in Dolores, Colo. She passed away on December 9, 2012 at the Gingerich Home for the Elderly in Farmington, N.M. at the age of 82. She was a lifelong resident of Southwestern Colorado. Edyth's childhood was spent living on a ranch in Disappointment Valley and the San Juan Mountains. She was a loving wife, mother and excellent homemaker. She loved the ranch life and helped with every aspect of the business. Edyth was a gifted horsewoman and kept all family members well supplied with good ranch horses. She loved her farm animals and enjoyed caring for them. Whether it was painting a picture, writing a poem or raising a beautiful garden, she was truly gifted. Edyth was a wonderful role model and has enriched each of our lives. She will be greatly missed. Surviving Edyth are her husband Alvin Sattley of 66 years; her two children, Jesse Sattley and wife, Charlene and Carol Taylor and husband, Bill; her grandchildren, Derrick Taylor, Adam Sattley and Abby Sattley; and one great grandchild, Alex Sattley. Edyth was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Donaldson Royce and Pearl May (Bankston) Royce; an infant son, Thomas Kent Sattley; two brothers, Don Royce and Glen Royce; sister, Marie Sharp; and a grandson, Darren Taylor.
