Edwin Wayne Campbell Jr.

EDWIN WAYNE CAMPBELL JR. Edwin Wayne "Corky" Campbell Jr. was born in Alamosa, Colo. on September 18, 1932 to Edwin Wayne Campbell and Eva Belle (Nixon) Campbell. He passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. Corky was in the Army from 1949 to 1952 and served in the Korean War. He then served in the Marines from 1952 to 1955, the Air Force from 1955 to 1959, and again in the Army from 1962 to 1973 where he served three tours in Vietnam. Corky retired from the armed forces after earning the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. In his spare time, Corky enjoyed restoring automobiles and pickups. Surviving Corky are his siblings, Donald L. Campbell of Dolores, Sandra Heird of Cortez, and Robert Campbell of Oroville, Wash. Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Eva Campbell. Cremation will take place with no services planned.
