Graveside inurnment services for Cortez resident Edwin “Leon” Gilliland will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15 at Cortez Cemetery.
Leon was born February 21, 1936 in Yellow Jacket, Colo. to Edward Martin and Mary Elizabeth (Aulston) Gilliland. He passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his residence at the age of 84.
Surviving Leon are his children, Lori Haukeness of Cortez, Cyndi Phelps of Ignacio, Colo., and Terry Gilliland of Elko, Nev.; and by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leon was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Yvonne (Paquin) Gilliland; and by his brother, Eddie Joe Gilliland.
