EDWARD R. “ED” WOOD Funeral services for longtime Monticello, Utah resident Edward R. “Ed” Wood will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 24 at the Community Church in Monticello. Interment will follow at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Monday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel and Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Community Church. Ed was born July 10, 1943 the son of Hobert A. and Nellie F. (Hyde) Wood in Cortez. He passed away in Yuma, Ariz. on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the age of 63. On April 4, 1970 Ed married Julie Elaine Cressler in San Bernardino, Calif. In addition to being a heavy equipment operator for the State of Utah, he also worked as a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking and metalworking. He, too, loved time spent outdoors hunting and camping. Surviving Ed are his wife, Julie Wood of Yuma, Ariz.; three daughters, Cyndi Eldredge and husband, Brad, Kimberley Pearson and husband, Toby, and Sandy Patterson and husband, Aubrey all of Monticello, Utah. Also surviving Ed are his grandchildren, Casen, Colton and Berlin Eldredge, Ryan and Mattea Lacy, Garret and Paige Pearson, and Hailey and Heather Howell; one brother, Bob Wood of Albuquerque, N.M.; and one sister, Ruth Curtis of Moab, Utah. His sister, Pauline; a brother, Bert; and his son-in-law, Jim Lacy precede him in death. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Edward R. Wood with Hospice of Yuma, 1824 S. 8th Ave., Yuma, Ariz., 85364-5517.
