EDWARD J. "EDDIE" GREEN JR. Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Edward J. "Eddie" Green Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Empire Chapel. Eddie was born on September 1, 1943 in Pueblo, Colo. the son of Edward and Ruth (Hunt) Green. He passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 66. In 1965, Eddie married Janet Marie Hough in Cortez. Eddie worked in the oil industry for a majority of his life. He retired from Texaco after 27 years of work. After his retirement, Eddie owned and operated his own trucking business called G's Trucking Incorporated for 10 years. In his free time, Eddie enjoyed stock car racing, horses, and spending time with his grandchildren. Eddie had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved harassing and teasing people. Eddie liked making people laugh, he got great satisfaction out of knowing he made someone feel good with one of his jokes or pranks. Surviving Eddie are his wife of 45 years, Janet Green of Cortez; and his children, Chad Green and wife, Dalene of Cortez, Nicki Traweek and husband, Nick of Cortez, and Shae Green of Cortez. Eddie also leaves behind his grandchildren, Rayce and Ryder Green of Cortez, and Noble and Trayton "Cowboy" Traweek of Cortez; his brother-in-law, George Humphreys of Cortez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Sharon Humphreys.
