EDWARD ALBERT LEVESQUE The war is over, the battle bravely fought. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cortez for Edward "Ed" Levesque. Father Pat Valdez will officiate. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Ed was born in Fall River, Mass. to Albert and Irene (Monast) Levesque. He passed away at his home on February 24, 2012 at the age of 73. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for ten years. During that time he travelled around the Arctic Circle, was involved in the Cuban Crisis, and crossed the equator. Ed married Pierrette "Pete" Levesque in Fall River, Mass. To this union they had three sons, Paul Michael, Robert Mark, and David Wayne. They moved to Cortez in 1965 where he started his 30 years driving semi trucks. Ed enjoyed horseback riding, tooling leather, and going off-road on mountain passes. Ed leaves behind his wife, Pete Levesque of Cortez; his sons, Paul Levesque and wife, Julia of Virginia Beach, Va., Mark Levesque and wife, Deanne of Bloomfield, N.M., and David Levesque of Cortez; and his grandchildren, Marc Levesque and wife, Kassie of Colorado Springs, Colo., Angela Levesque of Albuquerque, N.M., Joseph Levesque of Cortez, and Zachary and Cody Levesque of Bloomfield, N.M.; Also surviving Ed are two sisters, Anne Fleck of Connecticut and Elaine Osborne of Rhode Island; a brother, Armand Levesque of Massachusetts; his sister-in-law, Claire Levesque; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Ed in death are his parents; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; and granddaughter, Marguerite Levesque. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ed Levesque at the First National Bank in Cortez.
