EDNA MARIE BALL Graveside services for longtime area resident Edna Marie Ball will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 2 at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Monday morning at Ertel Memorial Chapel from 9 to 10 a.m. Marie was born December 6, 1931 in Kit Carson, Colo. the daughter of Herbert H. and Mabel Clair (Leonard) Plank. She passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the age of 78. On February 14, 1947 Marie married Alfred Eldon Ball in Columbus, Kans.; celebrating 56 years of marriage before Alfred's death in 2003. Marie belonged to a senior travel group and Parkinson's Support Group. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed arts and crafts. Surviving Marie are her daughter, Charlotte Folmar of Dolores; a grandson, James Melvin and wife, Amy of Lewis, Colo.; granddaughter, Vanessa Malloy and husband, Eddie of Dolores; three great grandchildren, Hailey, Camden, and Brandon; and by her sister, Opal Clair Brown of Denver, Colo. Preceding Marie in death were her parents; her husband, Alfred Ball; and one brother, Leonard Plank. Memorial contributions can be made in Edna Marie Ball's name with Dolores State Bank. All proceeds will benefit the Parkinson's Support Group.
