EDITH MAY STOWE Graveside services for longtime Dove Creek resident Edith May Stowe will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Mr. Sam Thompson will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5 to 6 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Edith was born December 16, 1921 in Melrose, N.M. the daughter of Hugh Issac and Daryl (Hogland) Warren. She passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 91. On November 15, 1942, Edith married L.A. Stowe in Dallas, Tex. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Dove Creek and the Tiger Club. Edith loved her gardens and flowers. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting. Time spent telling stories and visiting brought Edith much happiness. Surviving Edith are her children, William "Bill" Stowe and wife, Susanne of Mancos, Douglas R. Stowe and wife, Julie of Dove Creek, Bradley D. Stowe and wife, Marcia of Dove Creek, and Kay Lynn Buffington and husband, Jim of Dove Creek; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, L.A. Stowe; by her siblings, Leon "Jiggs" Warren and Orville "Duggs" Warren; and by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Stowe. Memorial contributions may be made in Edith Stowe's name to the charity of one's choice.
