Edith Davidina Threlkeld

October 11, 1928 — April 6, 2018

Edith D. (Plummer) Threlkeld was born October 11, 1928 in Warren, Michigan. She was the youngest of nine children born to William Tucker Plummer and Dorothy May (Drake) Plummer. Edith married Alvin Threlkeld (deceased) in Brownsville, Texas on October 12, 1946. Edith and Alvin were married for 61 years, until Alvins death in 2008. Shortly after they married, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and then to Cortez, Colorado in 1994. Edith and Alvin had four children: Robert Huntly Threlkeld (deceased) married to Thurza Threlkeld, Kyle Reed Threlkeld, Michael Dan Threlkeld married to Kimberly Threlkeld and Marla Sue (Threlkeld) Lehman married to John Lehman. Edith has 10 grandchildren: Holly Rene Threlkeld, Jennifer Kay Smith, Robin Paige Holly, Geoffrey Threlkeld, Bradford Threlkeld, Kaleb Michael Threlkeld, Swayzee Lei Ramage, Sadee Brooke Klemish, Westley Thomas Koal Lehman and Kessley Shawn May Lehman. She has five great grandchildren, Conner Earnest Holly, Aurora Huntly Holly, Thomas Jayt Ramage, Oliver Tate Holly and Henzlee Raye Klemish. Edith worked as a medical office manager for many years. Upon retirement, she volunteered at Vista Mesa Assisted Living, Madison House Assisted Living and Southwest Memorial Hospital. Edith was very involved with the First Baptist Church of Cortez and served as a Deaconess for many years. Edith was a faithful Christian who prayed often for others. Edith passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2018 in Cortez, Colorado. Edith is survived by 3 of her 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Edith was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to: The Alzheimers Organization at alz.org.
