ED WELLS Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident, Ed Wells will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14 at the Towaoc Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at the Towaoc Cemetery. A Wake has been scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Towaoc Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m. Ed was born on May 3, 1923 in McElmo Canyon, Colo. the son of McKinley and Kamara (Fly) Wells. He passed away on Friday, December 9, 2005 at his home in Towaoc at the age of 82. A very traditional man, Ed participated in the Sun Dance and was a member of the Native American Church. Ed was a hard working rancher, raising sheep and cattle. He was also known as a great horse trainer and handler, he had a true love of horses. Surviving Ed are his nieces, Juanita Plentyholes of Towaoc, Ella McCook of Ft. Duchesne, Utah, Barbara Peabody of Towaoc, Jeanette Coyote of Cortez, and Genevive Root of Mancos; his nephews, George Wells Jr., Raymond Kuebler Sr., and Donald Kuebler all of Towaoc, and Aldric Wells of Tucson, Ariz., as well as numerous other friends and family. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Evelyn Wells; and his siblings, George Wells, Sr., Jane Wells, Joshua Wells, Marjorie Wells, Chester Wells, Nedra Wells, and Mary Wells.
