EASTER HAZEL BAKER Funeral services for lifelong Mancos resident, Easter Hazel Baker will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Rev. Lynn Evans will be officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at the Cortez Cemetery. Easter was born on April 1, 1907 in Tolago, Okla. the daughter of George and Alice (Collins) Nelson. She passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at her residence. She was 98 years old. Easter loved to sew, crochet, have family picnics and occasionally, Easter would be found fishing. Surviving Easter are her children, Charlotte Baxstrom and husband, Mervin, and William E. Baker, both of Mancos; her grandchildren, Tom Baxstrom, Jerral Baxstrom, Janice Stephens, Joyce Kirk, Bruce Baker, and Douglas Baker; numerous great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hiram Ensley Baker; her son, George Worth Baker; her granddaughter, Patricia Higgins, and ten brothers and sisters.
