Dwight Jeffrey Warren

DWIGHT JEFFREY WARREN Dwight Jeffrey Warren was born on January 6, 1955 in Middletown, N.Y. the son of Harry and Joyce E. (Mayfield) Warren. He passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009 at his Dolores home at the age of 54. As a child, Dwight attended school in the Minisink Central School District in Slate Hill, N.Y. He then went on to attend Orange County Community College in Middletown, N.Y. Dwight finished his education at S.U.N.Y. in New Paultz, N.Y. A lifelong Archeologist, Dwight was also a member of the Audubon Society. He was an avid rock collector and enjoyed time spent birding, camping, hiking, electronics, and woodworking. Dwight was a member of the local model train club and he had a special love for the West. Surviving Dwight are his wife, April Korson of Dolores; his mother, Joyce Warren of New York; and his step-children, Richard Arnott and Lynn Arnott of Warwick, N.Y. He also leaves behind his cousin, Richard W. Mayfield II of Greenville, N.Y. his special friend and cousin, Kevin Geiger of Greenville, N.Y.; his cats, Mr. Fuzz, Blackie, Goober, and Bootsie; and numerous friends and cousins in Cortez and New York. Dwight was preceded in death by his father; by his grandparents, Arvilla and Willis J. Mayfield, and Jesse C. and Ruth Anne Warren; by his three day old son, Jason Patrick Warren; and by his uncles, Richard W. Mayfield and Jesse C. Warren. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Dwight's name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740, Cortez, Colo. 81321. Dwight's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice for their care, support and love during Dwight's illness.
