Dr. Valden Johnson

Funeral services for Cortez resident Doctor Valden Johnson will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jeff McDonald will officiate.

Valden was born April 3, 1957 in Farmington, New Mexico, the son of Herbert Todacheeny and Rose (Poyer) Johnson. He passed away on January 18, 2023 in his home at the age of 65.

Dr. Johnson served in the United States Public Health Service as an anesthesiologist and held a rank of second lieutenant.

Surviving Valden are his mother Rose Johnson; his daughters Alexandra Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Aimee Johnson of Seattle, Washington; and his brother Dewayne Johnson of Cortez, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Susan Mahew Blair; his father Herbert Todacheeny Johnson; and his brother Wesley Johnson.
