Dorthy Mozelle Jackson

Graveside services will be held for Dolores resident Dorthy Mozelle Jackson at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, CO. Pastor James Vaughn will officiate.
Mozelle was born December 20, 1927 in Afton, TX the daughter of John Matt and Rachael Arminda (Attaway) Thomas. She passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at her residence at the age of 94.
Mozelle lived in Cortez for 54 years, and worked at Bru’s House of Color for 33 years as a Picture Framer.
Surviving Mozelle are her daughter, Dorthy Brown (Don); two sisters, Galia Lewis, and Maxine Pedersen; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mozelle was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Eugene Jackson, and Vergil Vaughan; one son, Larry Jackson; three brothers; one grandson; and one great grandson.
