DOROTHY RITA FAUGHT Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Dorothy Rita Faught will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Reverend Pat Valdez, C.R. will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Dorothy was born January 27, 1924 in Fall River, Mass. the daughter of Alfred Vincent and Loretta (Clark) Bonner. She passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the age of 87. Dorothy graduated from Harper School of Nursing in 1945. She used her nursing skills as a Cadet Nurse in San Francisco during World War II. Dorothy's nursing career spanned 66 years during which time she cared for and treated a great number of people. On September 4, 1948 Dorothy married Raymond Gerard Faught in Detroit, Mich. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed gardening, traveling, and shopping. She was deeply loved by her family and they will miss her. Surviving Dorothy are her children, Kathy Greenlee and husband, Ed of Cortez, Jerry Faught and wife, Diane of Plymouth, Mich., Bill Faught of Cortez, Jean Marie Wollscheid and husband, John of Sachse, Tex., and Peggy Blackmer and husband, William of Dolores; and her grandchildren, Travis Greenlee and wife, Staci, Laurie McClain and husband, Jason, Ed Ryan Greenlee, Andrea Faught, Tina Vsetula and husband, Chris, Cherie Lee Lala, Rachel Faught, Jim Wollscheid and wife, Darcy, John Wollscheid Jr. and wife, Janelle, Joe Wollscheid and wife, Anna, Teresa Wollscheid, Jennifer Grant and husband, Matthew, Charley Blackmer and wife, Kati and Kyle Blackmer and wife, Devon. Dorothy also leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, James Ryan Bonner M.D. and wife, Coralie of Birmingham, Ala., and Phyllis Garber and husband, Pete of Michigan. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Raymond Faught. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy Faught's name to Dolores State Bank to benefit home health patients.
