DOROTHY MAY RAY MILLER Dorothy May Ray Miller, 85, of Kerrville, passed away on Sunday May 4, 2014 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Newton, Texas to Hardy Ray and Opal Whitman on October 20, 1928. She married James Harold Miller on September 1, 1962 in Houston, Texas. She went to school in Jack, Texas and worked as a Lab Technician at Dupont for a number of years. She was an Event Planner for a Houston hotel chain and later was a Realtor in the Houston area. Dorothy was very involved with her church family at Hosanna Lutheran in Kerrville. She is preceded in death by her father, Hardy Ray; mother, Opal Whitman Ray; her stepmother who raised her, Flossy Hogg; her brother, D.L. Ray; her husband, James Harold Miller; her stepson, Stuart Randall Miller; and her granddaughter, Keli Christine Fowler. She is survived by 3 stepdaughters, Cheri and Jay Tomaski, Melanie and David Dow and Trisha and David Fowler. She has 11 grandchildren, Jesse, Jim and Jake Turner, Travis Fowler, Aimee Galazen, Justin and David Dow, Stuart, Amanda, Christopher and Donald Miller. She has 9 great-grandchildren, Trevor and David Fowler, Kaylee, Hayden and Clayton Turner, Megan and Melanie Galazen, Ethan Dow and Colt Randall Miller. She also has 3 nieces and a nephew, Brenda and Thomas Weeks, Vicky and J.E. Powell, Stephanie and Robert Preece and Ricky and Nancy James and her sister-in-law, Virginia James. Graveside services will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Dolores Cemetery in Dolores, CO with Pastor Rick Carpenter officiating. The family of Dottie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church of Dolores, CO and their Congregation and all of her many loving friends who have been such a gift in her life.
