DOROTHY MARIE GREEN

Dotty Green was born April 18, 1946 in Oneonta NY and died August 29, 2022 in Cortez, CO. She is survived by her niece, Mary Ambion and her children, Bryan and Katie Ambion, Fremont, CA, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by Elizabeth M. (Bergh) and Carl G. Green as well as her sister, Carolyn A. Hashimi.

Dotty earned her dual degree BA Political Science and BS Education at SUNY Oneonta in 1969 and her M Ed in Secondary Education from the University of Arizona in 1977. She completed continuing graduate work at the University of AZ, Grand Canyon College, Ottawa University, Northern AZ University and University of San Diego. She worked as an educator for 34 years, with the majority of that time spent on the Arizona portion of the Navajo Nation.

Dotty’s interests outside of work included church activities, travel, photography, reading, cooking, native art works and corresponding with her many friends. A scripture passage special to her may be read by her family and friends as they remember Dotty, Ephesians 1:3-8

In the future, Dotty’s cremated remains will be interred in the family cemetery plot in Breakabeen, NY.
