DOROTHY MAE PALMER Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Dorothy Mae Palmer will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Reverends Don Henderson and Sam Jamison will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Dorothy was born on May 9, 1912 in Plad, Missouri, the daughter of James Greenfield Agee and Delilah Caroline (Lee) Agee. She passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. Dorothy was an active woman who spent two days a week at the Senior Center. She always looked forward to participating in the various activities they had to offer. She was also a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church. Dorothy was very skilled in sewing and crocheting, her family received many hand made crafts and gifts from her. Time spent in the garden brought Dorothy much happiness. She could grow beautiful flowers. Surviving Dorothy are her children, Loys Taylor of White City, Ore., Wilma Kardokus and husband, Charles of Cortez, Vern Palmer and wife, Kay of Big Piney, Wyo., Wanda Bryant and husband, Glen of Hesperia, Calif., Dorothy Young and husband, Jim of North Tustin, Calif., and Lester Palmer and wife, Sandy of Albuquerque, N.M. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Hughey Agee and wife, Disa of Coos Bay, Ore., and Geneva Willden of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and her sister-in-law, Helen Agee of Salem, Ore. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Palmer; her grandsons, Daniel and Mark Kardokus; and her brothers, Charlie, Russell, and Roy Agee.
