DORIS MARY BELT Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Doris Mary Belt will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 16 at the Cortez Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Pastor Steve Gillham will officiate. Doris was born April 30, 1927 in Buffalo, Wyo. the daughter of William Fraser and Maud Lenore (Skiles) Henderson. She passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her home at the age of 84. On December 27, 1971, Doris married Philip Melvin Belt in Cortez. Doris was a member of the Cortez Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She devoted many years as an L.P.N. at Southwest Memorial Hospital; and then Doris went on to work at Radio Shack. She enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors spending much time in her flower gardens. Doris also enjoyed time spent sewing and embroidering. She loved birds, especially hummingbirds. Surviving Doris are her loving husband of 40 years, Philip Belt of Cortez; her daughters, Janice Deibel of Lodi, Calif., and Linda Aalborg and husband, Bruce of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Dave Henderson and wife, Sandy of Cortez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; by her son, Randall Hill; and by her brothers, Bill Henderson, Pete Henderson, and Don Henderson. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris Belt's name to the Cortez Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Worthy Student Fund.
