DONNIE DEAN SMITH Memorial services for lifelong Cortez resident Donnie Dean Smith will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10 at Victory World Outreach Church. Pastor Jonathan Bland will officiate. Donnie was born on August 30, 1963 in Cortez the son of John Robert and Mary Ann (Dennison) Smith. He passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. at the age of 46. Donnie had a special relationship with his twin brother, Ronnie. The two were inseparable. Donnie and Ronnie loved to walk around Cortez together. Surviving Donnie are his mother, Mary Ann Smith of Cortez; and his siblings, Robert Roy Smith and wife, Jackie of Hiawatha, Kan., Sharon Norris of Wasilla, Alaska, Caron Salisbury of Cortez, Leslie Decker of Thornton, Colo., Steven Smith of Hodgen, Okla., Cindy Mack and husband, Sam of Sun City, Calif., Penny Cadman and husband, Chee of Tucson, Ariz., Roger Smith of Cortez, Connie Clark and husband, Buddy of Cortez, and Ronnie Smith of Cortez. Donnie also leaves behind his special sister, Josephine Waddoups of Dove Creek; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Donnie was preceded in death by his father; and his brother, Larry Smith.
