DONNA JEAN SKINNER Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Donna Jean Skinner will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon for family and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Donna was born the daughter of James P. and Violet (Bennett) McKee on August 6, 1937 in Wheatland, Wyo. She passed away at the age of 76 on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Vista Grande Inn in Cortez. Donna truly loved the outdoors. Camping, hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes. She enjoyed raising her miniature horses; and singing Karaoke and dancing were times she loved. Donna married Jimmie Lee Skinner on September 6, 1956 in Casper, Wyo. Together they had two sons, Randy and Shannon. They would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this year. Donna leaves behind her husband, Jimmie Lee Skinner of Cortez; her son, Randy Skinner of Wyoming; her grandchildren, Alysa Seymour and husband, Josh, and James Carson all of Cortez; great-grandchildren, Braiden and Journey Seymour; and her sister, Shirley Stribling of Michigan City, Ind. Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Violet McKee; her son, Shannon Skinner; her sisters, Betty Corrillo and Nancy DeSersa. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Donna Skinner with the American Cancer Society.
