DONALD H. EMRICK Donald H. Emrick was born on March 17, 1921 in Wabash, Ind. the son of Hayes and Martha Ann (Shambaugh) Emrick. He passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 87. On August 31, 1951, Don married Angela Frances Mance in Albuquerque, N.M. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2000. Don graduated from Linlawn High School in Wabash, Ind. and Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., and then went on to attend graduate school at the University of New Mexico. He was sports editor of the Wabash Plain Dealer and Times Star prior to three years of WWII service in Central America. He was employed for 27 years principally in technical publications at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, N.M. Don's interests included friends, fishing, college and professional sports, reading and travel. Surviving Don are his two daughters, Joy Diane Maase of Cortez, and Patricia Lynn Savignac and husband, Noel F. Savignac of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his grandson, Scott A. Maase of San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Angela Emrick; his sisters, Mabelle and Vera Emrick; and his brother, Victor Emrick. Memorial contributions may be made in Don's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 701 Camino del Rio, Ste. 115A, Durango, Colo. 81301. Cremation has taken place and no public services are planned.
