DONALD EDWARD KUHLMAN Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident, Donald Edward Kuhlman will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 16 at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Reverend Erica Meyer of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church will be officiating. Don was born on March 15, 1946 in Chicago, Ill. the son of Edward Clement and Mary (Hernandez) Kuhlman. He passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2004 in Telluride at the age of 58. On June 3, 1968 in Los Alamos, N.M. Don married Joanne Marie Kinker. With this union two children were born. Don spent twenty years continuing his education and was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity. He was a teacher for both the high school and college levels. He came to the Montezuma Cortez High School in 1994 where he taught Government. He loved teaching. In his spare time, Don enjoyed hiking and skiing. He was also an artist of many things including pottery. Surviving Don are his wife, Joanne Kuhlman of Cortez; his sons, John Edward Kuhlman and Eric James Kuhlman both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and his grandchildren, Erin and J.D. Preceding him in death were his parents. Memorial contributions can be made in Don’s name to the Cortez Public Library.
