Don and Alys moved to Cortez where he operated the Cortez Water Treatment Plant. Don had a severe heart attack in 1982 forcing him to retire. Don and Alys returned to Dove Creek where they managed the trailer park and campground store. Eventually the couple moved to Kingman, Ariz. In the winter months they enjoyed selling beans in Quartzite, Ariz. Don and Alys moved to Cahone in 2005. Don enjoyed telling deer stories, hunting, fishing and camping with his kids, family get-togethers, spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and traveling. Surviving Don are his wife of 60 years, Alys Drummond of Dove Creek; his children, Linda Coffey and husband, Mike of Dove Creek, Jeff Drummond and wife, Shirl of Denver, and Douglas Drummond of Kingman, Ariz.; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Coffey and wife, Pam of Dove Creek, Grant Coffey and wife, Dena of Dove Creek, Lucas Drummond and wife, Stephanie of Kingman, Ariz., and Dana Drummond of Kingman, Ariz.
