Dolores (Rivas) "Dodie" Armenta

DOLORES (RIVAS) “DODIE” ARMENTA Memorial services for Cortez resident Dolores (Rivas) “Dodie” Armenta will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pagosa Springs. A Rosary service has been scheduled for Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Dodie was born on August 13, 1969 in Durango, the daughter of Christopher Lloyd and Fabiola (Rivera) Rivas. She passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 37. Dodie was a kind person that loved working with the elderly. She enjoyed reading, music and watching movies. Dodie loved to write letters to her husband and she had a profound faith in God. Surviving Dodie are her husband, Roldan Armenta of Cortez; her mother, Fabiola Rivas of Cortez; and her children, Michael Rivas and Bianca Rae Rivas Armenta, both of Cortez. She also leaves behind her step-children, Rhonda, Sharlene, Mandy, Destiny, and Sandy Armenta, Isaac Armenta Acosta, Condi Armenta and Anthony Ulibarri Armenta, all of Denver; her granddaughter, Natalya Arabella Sturgeon of Santa Cruz, Calif.; her siblings, Robert Rivas and wife, Martha of Aztec, N.M., Glen Rivas, Bernadette Archuleta, Libby and Lilly Rivas, all of Cortez; her step-brother, Aaron Rivas of Monte Vista, Colo.; her nieces, Mikaela, Jill, Alannah, Cassie, and Harley Rivas; her nephews, Christopher Rivas, Cody Archuleta, and Cruz Rivas; and her great-nephew, Christopher Lloyd Rivas. She was preceded in death by her father; and her sister, Libby Rivas.
