DOLORES EILEEN TOZER Funeral services for Dolores Eileen Tozer, lifelong resident of Cortez, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Chaplain Marvin Graves will officiate. Dolores was born September 10, 1927 in Dolores the daughter of Frank Herman and Maple Alzina (McLaughlin) Roelker. She passed away at her home in McElmo Canyon on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the age of 79. A poet a heart, Dolores penned a number of cowboy poems under the name of “Lotta Guts”. She enjoyed entering competitions with her poems and had a book of published poems. Surviving Dolores are her two sons, Don Tozer and wife, Liz of Cortez and Rex Tozer also of Cortez; four grandchildren, Heather Tozer and friend, Dillon Oliver, Jessica Hernandez and husband, Jason, and Hardy Tozer and wife, Mika all of Cortez, and Mike Tozer and wife, Missy of Farmington, N.M.; and three great grandchildren, Jada and Mikayla Tozer of Farmington, N.M. and Cruz Hernandez of Cortez. Her sister, Elanor Tozer of Cortez; a niece, Carol Tibbits of Cortez; and a nephew, Merle Tozer of Texas also survive Dolores. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Tozer in 1991; and her brother, Raymond Roelker.
