Dixie Veach-Foutz

April 1, 1939 — September 9, 2018

Dixie Joyce Veach Foutz died September 9, 2018 at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez. Dixie was born April 1, 1939 to Ollie Rose Elliott and Granville Holman in the Lebanon area.

Dixie grew up around Cortez. She met her future husband Darrell Veach and they married on July 27, 1956. Dixie graduated from high school in 1957. She and Darrell started out with sheep and in 1974 they switched to cows. Dixie embraced her life on the ranch and could do just about anything. In 1969 she joined the LDS Church. Dixie’s passion was genealogy. She was able to trace both sides of her family and Darrell’s family, going back several generations. Dixie always grew a big garden. She spent many hours canning and preserving. Dixie was known as a fantastic cook, and always offered to feed you. She and Darrell were quite the team on the ranch. She knew what needed to be done and jumped right in. Every summer you could find Dixie near Groundhog Lake checking on cows, moving cows, or building fence. And always caring for her family.

Dixie had four children. Glenda was born in 1958; Casey was born in 1959; Kellie was born in 1961; and Corey was born in 1964. She was active in her kid’s lives. Dixie and Darrell were together almost 51 years when he passed in 2007. She was a strong person and went on with her life. Dixie and Loyd Foutz married in 2010 and enjoyed eight years together. Dixie was gracious and kind and always helped out when she could.

Preceding Dixie in death were her husband, Darrell Veach; her Mom and Step-Dad, Ollie and Orin Albin; brothers Ray Dean Holman and Elliott Albin; and daughter Glenda.
Surviving Dixie are her husband, Loyd Foutz; her children, Casey and Lexie, Kellie and Pat, and Corey and Trena; her grandchildren, Dusty and Kiffany, and their kids Hailey, Brian and Raegan; Abbie and Rob; Justin and Cami, and their kids Gavin, Bridger and Ember; Jeremy and boys Wade and Welker; Derek Veach, Brady Veach, Katie Marie and daughter Ella Sage, Jaci Veach, Cole Veach, and Isabel Veach.

A special thank you to Vista Grande Inn for all that you did for Dixie. Everyone was just great during her time there.
