He enjoyed traveling, hiking, camping, spending time with his wife, dogs and watching sports. Dieter loved his leonbergers and pampered his boys Moxl, Fritzl, Sigi, Franzl, Willie and Seppl with decadent treat plates.
Dieter was a sports fanatic. He had a complicated love-hate relationship with the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He has been described by family, friends and co-workers as a generous, smart, colorful, sweet, gentle giant, with a great laugh and a big heart to match. He was loud and fun to be around, and lived life to the fullest.
