DIANE PARTNER Funeral services for Diane Partner of Santa Clarita, Calif. and formerly of Cortez will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 16 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery in which Diane will be laid to rest beside her father. Bishop Spencer Smith will conduct. Visitation has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Diane was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 10, 1952 to Beth (Norton) Partner and the late Alfred Atherly Partner. She passed away gently in her sleep on Monday, January 5, 2009 at the age of 56. For the past 21 years, Diane was a valued and dedicated Graphic Artist for Fanfare Media Works, creating high technology visual advertising layouts. Diane initiated a special media layout called Diane Partner's "Recipes and More" in the monthly Movie News which was developing a widespread following. Diane provided professional training for many of her co-workers in the use of graphic design software and served as an artistic inspiration for her family and friends. Diane was a very gifted and talented artist. Over the years she has painted exquisite works inspired by scenes and locations she had visited during her travels throughout Europe. In addition to traditional art expressions, Diane created edible art through the decorating of cakes in the form of animals, landscapes, portraits and other forms, many of which were exhibited at national cake decorating conventions. Surviving Diane are her mother, Beth Partner, of Cortez, Colo.; and her siblings, Kathleen and Jerry O'Brien, of Gilbert, Ariz., Sybil Dean and Vicente I. Carrillo, of Peoria, Ariz., Anna and Tom Hansen, of St. John's, Ariz., Don Alfred and Patricia Partner of Baring, Wash., Karl Taylor and Laurie Partner, of Palmyra, Va., and Ellen Beth Stiles, of Phoenix, Ariz. Diane also has many loving nieces and nephews as well as dear co-workers who are mourning her passing.
