DESSIE LAVETA LYNN MORTON Graveside inurnment services for longtime Dove Creek resident Dessie LaVeta Lynn Morton will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 22 at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Baha'i of Cortez will officiate. LaVeta was born June 2, 1941 in Zelma, Mo. the daughter of David Ebert and Nelle Elizabeth (Smith) Lynn. She passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at her daughter's residence at the age of 70. LaVeta was very knowledgeable when it came to history and events. Friends and family enjoyed their conversations with her. LaVeta gained much happiness in life from time spent taking pictures and reading and writing poetry. Surviving LaVeta are her children, Dessie Watkins and husband, Roger of Dove Creek, Julie Ott and husband, Forrest of Mancos, and Daniel Stevenson of Mancos; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Norman Eugene Lynn of Nucla, Bessie Juanita Adams of Cortez, and Sharon Arrington of Indianapolis, Ind. LaVeta was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings, Ann Lynn and Margaret Lynn.
