DENNIS IRVIN BRUMLEY A celebration of Dennis Brumley's life will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at 4 p.m. at the Dolores Community Center. Pastor Dave Dahl will officiate. Dennis Irvin Brumley was born on July 1, 1952 in Cortez, Colo. and passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012 at his childhood home in Dolores. Dennis attended the Dolores schools and graduated from Dolores High School in 1970. After high school he attended and graduated from an Aeronautical mechanic school in Wyoming. Soon after, he joined the United States Navy and served his country from 1972-1976. On May 14, 1988, Dennis married Patty Jo Krause. They shared 24 years of marriage before his death. Dennis worked as a diesel mechanic and an automotive mechanic most of his life. He had his own automotive shop for several years. When he was healthy, anyone, family or friend, could call and he would be there to get their vehicle running again. He also served on the Dolores Fire Dept. for about 10 years as a volunteer fireman. Dennis loved his family, his loyal dogs over the years, and he loved the ranch at Groundhog. He loved his summers there as a child, and was grateful to be able to return and spend his summers there for the last several years enjoying God's bounty. Dennis was known as one of the better pool players in town, and many of his friends will miss competing with him at the Hollywood Bar. Dennis leaves behind his loyal, loving wife Patty Jo; his son Jeremiah Brumley and wife, Shelly of Montrose, Colo.; his brothers, Aryol Brumley and wife, Jackie of Cortez and Gary Dean Brumley and wife, Sandy of Lincoln, Calif.; his sister, Mary Ann Findley and husband, Dewayne of Cortez; and by his step-mother, Norma Brumley of Dolores. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Nathan, Sierra, Sydney, Victoria and Jolee; and by eight nieces, and a host of friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Betty Lou Brumley; his mother and father-in-law, Ken and Inez Krause; and by infant granddaughter, Miah Brumley. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers with Dolores State Bank.
