DELPHINE MAY REMINGTON Funeral services for Delphine May Remington, 80 of Cortez, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26 at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home in McCook, Neb. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Neb. Delphine was born June 19, 1927 to Lee Roy and Odessa (Grafton) Nokes in Red Willow County, Neb. She passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. On April 6, 1947 in Oberlan, Kans. Delphine married Doran Dean Remington; sharing 56 years of marriage before Dorans death in 2003. Delphine lived in McCook until 2005 and moved to the Cortez area to be nearer family. After coming to Cortez she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Delphine was a devoted homemaker, enjoying the daily demands of cleaning and ironing. She loved keeping her hands busy crocheting, embroidering and making ceramics. Surviving Delphine are her two daughters, Connie Walter and husband, Roland of Dolores and Diane Dugger and husband, Murray of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren, Chad Tobiasson and wife, Jessica of Dolores, Amy Picray and husband, John of Monticello, Iowa, Darin Dugger and wife, Dana of Longmont, Colo., and DeDee Mashek and husband, Phillip of Aurora, Colo; by 10 great grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marion Nokes, Win Nokes, Vern Nokes, Delbert Nokes and Leola Thomas.
