DELOURIS C. TOZER Funeral services for DeLouris C. Tozer, a longtime resident of Cortez, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 8 at Ertel Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anthony Maes officiating. Burial will follow at Cortez Cemetery. DeLouris was born the daughter of Thomas Walter and Maude Etna (Rathbun) Cox in Lincoln, Neb. on December 24, 1927. She passed away at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez on Sunday, May 3, 2015. DeLouris was 87 years old. A 1946 graduate of MCHS, DeLouris married Eugene W. Tozer the following year on December 23, 1947 in Aztec, N.M. She enjoyed gardening and in the fall, DeLouris canned the vegetables harvested. She also loved listening to and watching the little birds that came around her home. Surviving DeLouris are her three daughters, Vicki Porter and husband, Ron, Kim Stiegelmeyer and husband, Scott, and Karen Palmer and husband, Fred, all of Cortez; by three granddaughters, Kenna Messier and husband, Matt, Jennifer Roundtree-Massey and husband, Leon, and Callie Maes and husband, Caleb; and by her sister, Chloris Coppinger. DeLouris was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Tozer in 2001; her only son, Kent Eugene Tozer; a granddaughter, Rickie Tozer; and her siblings, Gene Cox and Doreen Livingston.
