Della Johnson

DELLA JOHNSON Funeral services for Cortez resident Della Johnson will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 17 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Della was born on July 15, 1924 in Aneth, Utah the daughter of Tony Clah and Irene Nez. She passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 83. Della was a member of the Native American Church. She enjoyed taking part in Navajo ceremonies. Della was a homemaker that also spent her time as a sheep rancher. She liked to spend time at the Sale Barn with her husband and she enjoyed cooking. She was better known as the granddaughter of Wooden Armed Man from Aneth. Surviving Della are her siblings, James Johnson and wife, Mary Lou of Shiprock, and Alice Charley; she is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives in the Four Corners area. She took in many relatives’ children as her own. Della was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Rio Johnson.
