Deliria Lafida Cordova

Services for Deliria “Dee” Lafida Cordova will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday January 13^th at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church in Cortez.

Dee was born September 16, 1934, the daughter of Juanita and Eliseo Gallegos.  She passed away peacefully on January 8^th 2024 in Cortez, Colorado at the age of 89.

Dee was born and raised in Plaza Blanca, New Mexico where she grew up with her four other siblings.  Plaza Blanca is also where she met the love of her life, Genaro “Jerry” Cordova, and was married June 11^th 1956.  They welcomed their daughter Liz in 1957, followed by their two sons Lee in 1960 and Jerry in 1969.

After starting their family, they moved to Cortez, Colorado where Dee worked as a housekeeper for the local hospital and nursing home for over 30 years.  Anyone that had the pleasure of working with her, knows she took pride in her work.  Dee loved her family and friends and always welcomed everyone with open arms and a delicious meal.

Surviving Dee are her husband, Genaro Cordova of Cortez, Colorado; her children, Lee Cordova of Grand Junction, Colorado, Jerry Cordova (Evelyn) of Bloomfield, New Mexico; her grandchildren Dale McDaniel, Kevin Cordova, Sylvia Velarde, Nicole Loyd, KaCee Cordova, JT Cordova, Jesse Cordova, Heather Lopez,  Patrick Mantel, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her siblings Ralph Gallegos, Rufie Sandoval, Rose Martinez and Farley Montoya.

Dee was preceded in death by; her parents, daughter Liz, grandson Lucas and sister-in- law April.
