MAGGIE DELIA DAVIS Maggie Delia Davis was born on January 19, 1923 in Egnar, Colo. the daughter of Alex Washington and Maggie Sue (Sykes) Davis. The lifelong Dove Creek resident passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at a family friend's home in Durango. Delia was 86 years old. Delia attended school in Egnar and completed the eight grade. She was a member of the Civic Club for many years. Delia worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years. Delia loved to garden and fish, and it has been said that she babysat most of the kids in Dove Creek at one time or another. Surviving Delia are her surrogate daughter, Gayle Hodson-Puhler of Durango; her friends, Lettie Alo of Dove Creek, Eric Hauser of Colorado Springs, Colo., Roberta Hauser of Kingman, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Andrew Hodson of Phoenix, Ariz., Kassandra Puhler of Grand Junction, Colo., Jeffery Hauser of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Corey Puhler of Durango; and her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Preston Hodson, and Blake Yamitz-Puhler. Delia was preceded in death by her parents; and by her friends, Bev Hodson Story and Lucy Berardi. Cremation has taken place and services will be held for Delia this spring.
