Dee L. Niemann

DEE L. NIEMANN Funeral services for Cortez resident Dee L. Niemann will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Dee was born on July 10, 1928 in Hastings, Neb. the daughter of Jim and Berniece A. (Evans) Rose. She passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 80. On April 10, 1954, Dee married Jack Niemann in Yuma, Ariz. The couple would have celebrated their 55th anniversary next month. Dee joined the Nurses Corp at the V.A. Hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif. It was during this time that Dee received training and became a Registered Nurse. In 1993, Dee and Jack moved to Cortez. She volunteered and devoted her free time at Vista Grande Inn and at Hospice of Montezuma. Dee's family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Montezuma and the staff at Valley Inn Nursing Home. Surviving Dee are her loving husband, Jack Niemann of Cortez; her daughter, Cindy Hynum and husband, Lee of Cortez; her grandson, Tyson Wolfe; her siblings, Jim Rose and wife, Eileen of Glendale, Ariz. and Linda McFarland and husband, Edgar of Aztec, N.M; one aunt; one uncle; and many cousins.
