DEBORAH JOAN JEWELL-DAVISS Funeral services for Cortez resident Deborah Joan Jewell-Daviss will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Empire Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Deborah was born on June 16, 1959 in Denver, Colo. the daughter of Ernest Emery and Fern Eula (Baxter) Jewell. She passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Aspen Gardens Assisted Living at the age of 49. Surviving Deborah are her sons, Michael A. Green Jr. of Nevada and Samuel Thomas of New York; her siblings, Mona Dunson and husband, Doug of Alabama, Jim Jewell and wife Beverly of Oklahoma, Anna Vasques and husband, Martin of Loveland, Colo., Joe Baker and wife, Helen of Nevada, and Dave Baker and wife, Shelly of Cortez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.
