David Zene Marsell passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
David was born in Long Beach, CA to Floyd Robert Marsell and Margaret Edna Rees on October 18, 1943. He married Karen Lee Stiff on May 23, 1963 in Compton, CA. They had three children, Bobbie Lee, David Rees, and Cheryl Ann. They moved to Colorado in 1972 where they made Cahone their permanent home. Dave ran the Cahone Phillips 66 station where he started working the radiator repair business. In 1974 he moved his business to Pleasant View where he continued his business as American Radiator. He retired from the radiator business in 2003. He then went to work for Slaven’s where he worked until the death of his wife in 2010.
Dave’s passions were hunting, camping, fishing, and building things out of wood. He enjoyed making and selling clocks and birdhouses. The grandchildren were blessed with many homemade creations including a playhouse, boats, furniture, and a rideable car. He was an expert at anything he did.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Bob-O and Margie; his older brother, Robert Marsell; his sister, Rita Mason; his loving wife of 43 years, Karen Marsell; his oldest daughter, Bobbie Carter; and his in-laws, Bobby and Millie Stiff. Surviving Dave are his two children, David R. (Barbie) Marsell of Pleasant View, CO, and Cheryl A. (Cindy) Marsell of Yellow Jacket, CO; his brother, Doyle Marsell of Henderson, NV; his grandchildren, Chris Cox, Matt Cox, Taylor Marsell, and Jeff Marsell; seven great grandchildren; his girlfriend, Karen Hoskins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dave has requested to not have a service. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Cahone, CO.
He was a loving husband, father, papa and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
