David Lee Stonesifer

DAVID LEE "STONEY" STONESIFER Graveside inurnment services for Dolores resident David Lee "Stoney" Stonesifer will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 6 at the Cortez Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. David was born on September 2, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Stanley Maynard and Bessie (Vipperman) Stonesifer. He passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 63. On June 27, 1987, David married Carmen Arriola in Lantana, Florida. David was a member of Elks and the American Legion. A contractor most of his life, David retired from the Signal Group in Florida. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards with his friends, and playing poker online. David also like time spent playing horseshoes and golfing. Surviving David are his children, David and Lucia Meno, Daniel and Sandra Stonesifer of Guam, Michael and Lisa Arriola of Florida, Michael and Jackie Kosaka of Oklahoma, Pete and Tina Arriola of Florida, Scott and Lucia Story of Dolores, William and Karla Blas of Hawaii, and John and Shelly Arriola of Kansas. David also leaves behind 26 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his siblings, Stanley and Darlene Stonesifer of North Carolina, Linda Weltmer of Kentucky, and Chester and Bertha Stonesifer of Florida; and his brother-in-law, Robert Hubbard of Kentucky. David was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Carmen Stonesifer; and by a twin sibling, Diane Hubbard. Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the Connelly Hospitality House, 710 Lake Street, Farmington, N.M. 87401.
